European Gold
There are various European gold coins on the market. They include but are not limited to:
- British Sovereigns
- Netherlands 10 Guilders
- 20 Franc Swiss and French
- Russian 5 Rubles
- Austrian Ducats
- Austrian Coronas
- Italian 2 Lira
- Swedish Kroners
- Hungarian Koronas
- German Marks
- Belgian 20Francs
Most of these coins are simply bullion coins. While they are liquid be careful because many dealers sell them as rare coins with large mark ups. In a recent internet search a 20Franc listed from a low of $233 to as much as $492 from a radio hosted company.
Another potential problem is they are not in even amounts of gold like 1 oz , 1/2 oz or 1/4 oz. They are in odd amounts like .1867 oz which makes it confusing. Again as long as you don’t pay too much over the gold value they are fine. Don’t let a commission hungry broker tell you they are rare and valuable. Not even if your favorite talk show host says the company is ok. Its easy to check prices. Call us or e-mail for current pricing nick@americanfederal.com.
